I originally graduated as a Industrial designer at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design then qualified as a secondary school art and design teacher at the University of London Institute of Education. Spent many years professionally exploring a variety of art and design disciplines in the museum, educational and commercial sectors. Currently work as a illustrator, although I am now semi retired.
Most of my creative inspiration comes from a great love and interest in the natural world. My style is very detailed and objective because of the educational nature of many of my commissions. However I can work more freely, so quite flexible and versatile.
I worked in a architectural practice for several years which helped plant a seed of interest in developing detail and precision in my work. Have latterly specialised in natural history habitat illustration for interpretation panel display in parks and open spaces. Natural history and architecture are my main subject interests.
It is very fulfilling to receive a happy, emotional response to any of my work.
Looking forward to meeting many like minded creatives at SMAG Art.
