I am a mixed media artist with a passion for nature and colour.  I have always found calm in the outside world, which draws me back to it again and again.  In my works I exaggerate colours, manipulating them for effect and emotion.  I naturally brighten the colours I see around me, perhaps I’m subconsciously wishing for a brighter world.

 

Over the years I have become freer in my painting and begun focusing on mark-making and texture, leading to some works becoming more abstract.  As well as painting, I work on a series of photographs of trees, duplicating and mirroring each image to create final pieces that have numerous patterns, shapes and even faces within.  The works created are not titled to allow the viewer to explore them for themselves and decide what they see.
