I am an artist and sculptor and have been living in Blackheath since 1973. I originally trained as a sculptor, using clay and wax, and casting moulds in cement fondue, bronze resin and terracotta. When I gave up my day job I began to paint in oils but I transferred to acrylic for the speed and textural possibilities it offered.
I particularly enjoy using colour to concentrate on the emotional aspects of landscape and its relationship to ourselves. I am drawn to coastal scenes, changes in weather and images experienced during travels abroad. My background in sculpture also gives me an interest in depicting people either as part of the landscape or in portraiture.
I exhibit with Greenwich Open Studios and I am on the committee of the Blackheath Art Society.
